9 years, $360 million to stay with NYY.
but they lost Taillon to the Cubs and just signed a reliever who has only pitched 13 innings in the last three seasons to a two-year contract (insert dizzy face emoji).Yankees + Todd Greene collector. There are tens of thousands of Yankees I need. My grail card is a 2005 Topps Pristine Fielder's Choice Glove Relics #TG Todd Greene.

Without a doubt athletes are over paid. But if the owners are willing to pay them huge amounts of money, let them take it.
NOTE: My opinion --- Instead of paying athletes HUGE amounts of money, we should pay more to: (1)fire men & women - (2)police - (3)military - AND - (4)educators. They teach us and protect us. Athletes just help us have good times, and do things that get our attention and things we enjoy to watch (if/when we don't play). The "four" I mentioned educate and protect us. Athletes just provide us with something to watch and enjoy. So, WHY do they get such HUGE amounts of $$$ ? WHY do "teams" offer so much ? Yes, the athletes should get "extra" money when on trips to play (for food and hotel costs). AND, yes they should get a little more $$$ to help their family while they're "on the road/out of town" But millions and millions and millions to just "PLAY" (with some practice) games, to me, is crazy. AND for several MONTHS, in each year, they aren't practicing or playing (a good amount of FREE time). In my opinion, I see most, almost all, professional "team" athletes being OVER PAID. However, the "owners" continue to jack up the "pros" salaries AND "jack up" food, game tickets, team/player items, etc. prices. The spectator/fan ends up paying more and more than before. Get ALL pro salaries to a reasonable level. However, that can't be done UNTIL the owners don't HAVE TO HAVE certain players, and give HUGE amounts to get that/those athletes. Make the "salaries" more reasonable throughout "team" sports. Individual athletes (golf, tennis, boxing, etc) EARN what they can get, by where they place in contests and "others" that want them to support there product(s).
Sorry if this bothers you, but it bothered me (so I mentioned it). Have a good day and/or night (depending on when you saw/read this).Last edited by OriolesFan; 12-10-2022 at 10:35 PM. Reason: correcting error

Athletes make about $48,000 per player from 3 sportscard companies, including Panini . So collectors contribute to the prices paid to players. Players don't pay for hotels costs, but do get meal money, which , from what i understand goes to clubhouse men and women much of the time, as tips. Of course that is their option.
