The only real insurance is what Don first mentions is fire/flood proof safe. For what it costs to insure. the safe pays for itself, and it too is a "tangible" asset.

Gun safes are not totally fire/water proof but, I bought one and it is the best investment. I prefer to have my cards with me so I can enjoy them.

I mean a safe that makes a claim like this is good enough in my book. Look at all the kind of safes that will protect your valuables for a day in standing water for a day or days. Of course I never plan on testing it. The bigger question is how high of heat can it stand and how long is it fire rated for. There is a ton of articles out there for looking at the pro's and con's of all of them.

[BFor example, a safe may be water resistant up to 39 inches for up to 72 hours. [/B]

What kind of safe do you have?

I have a Canon gun safe. I left it on the pallet and thankfully so. It was easier to move it when I moved.

What part of it do they want?

Depends upon which child. They want the Autographed footballs, helmets, framed pictures, Beatles items. They do not want the most of the cards.
