I was in shock when I heard about it tonight. He had been fighting sickness since 2014, but he was doing better since a while, this was unexpected.
RIP Gino!

This past November, I had the privilege of hearing Gino speak at the Langley, BC semi-annual WCSCC card show. He looked good at the time and he was always awesome to watch play throughout his years in the NHL, sad news to hear today of his passing

I met Gino at a Bauer event at our local rink in summer 1997. He was there with Pavel Bure, Adam Graves, Eric Lindros and Chris Gratton, so his autograph and photo was by far the easiest to get. He was also by far the best of the group when it came to spending time with the fans and especially the kids at the event. He ended up being a huge hit at the end of the day and left with a lot of new fans, even though he wouldn't have any connection to the Philadelphia area for another couple years. I'll have to see if I can find the photo I have with him from that day.
R.I.P.Patrick Roy PC: Playing days 1985/86-2002/03, excluding 1/1, National Show/All-Star Game stamped issues.
