Noob Needs Advice

Hey guys............As the topic suggests, i am a total noob in the trading card world, but need some advice. I bought some property about 5 years ago, and just recently discovered a box of trading cards in the attic of the garage. I have tried contacting the previous owner to return them, but cannot locate them. Anywho, the collection is mainly from the early 90's and has approximately 1350 Hockey cards, and about 730 Baseball cards.

What should I do with them ??? Is there any value in them ?? How can I maximize any value they may have ??

It could be your lucky day! Since you dont know much about them,id buy a beckett card plus magazine (for each sport) and look each up individually.Did you notice if there were any superstars? The only thing is cards from that era arent worth much (im only speaking about the baseball portion since i dont know much about the hockey cards) with the exception of a few here and there.Then again,you could have all junk and waste $9.99 on each magazine and the time you spent looking each up.But if i were you ,id do it for fun.Or you can make a list of what you have and post it here or just the ones you think could be worth it..Or you can look each up individually on www.beckett.com or just give them to a hospital for children for christmas.......Hope that helps

If its early 1990's baseball you really can't give most of that stuff away. If you go to Beckett.com you can look up each card in question and gets their values that way.

I would put them in numerical order by year, then start looking them up in a price guide...

Usually when someone has that many cards from just those years they usually have a good idea what they are worth. But look through them anyway. I have a friend who looked through some 'commons' and found 3 Tony Romo rookies and a Shaun Alexander rookie worth $40...

i wouldnt bother with the early 90's baseball unless you have a bill ripken "ff" card
