Which is true. They have to sequester some of the key media people who are present. It allows them to prepare the stories so that they can hit media channels immediately upon the announcement.

But yeah, bit of a snafu by Kevin Weekes there on the live broadcast.

Was hoping the Habs might move up but they ended up exactly where they "should" have in the 5th slot. Going to be a lot of think-pieces on who they should take there. Hopefully it works out as well as it did the last time they drafted 5th. :)

Now the Hawks are going to have to go out and sign some free agents for the kid to play with. Their cupboard is currently bare.

Hawks are going to have just under 42 million in cap space. They have around 10 players I can see them resigning, most RFA's. Hawks GM Kyle Davidson has said seen the beginning that this is a complete rebuild and going with the youngsters. I can see them signing 2 to 4 free agents but all on 1-2 year deals. Don't be surprised if Domi comes back.
