I've seen some previews, the cards look amazing. But at 250CAD per box, it's an easy pass for me. I'll look for the basic Habs rookies and anything else will be bonus.

In 20-21, OPC Platinum blasters were part of the Walmart Black Friday sale. I bought the maximum allowed (5) at half of the regular price. It was such a fun break, one of my favorites in the past few years.

$250!?!? Fun product but that price doesn't add up for me.

So here's the deal on Platinum compared to the last release.

20-21 configuration was 20 packs, 4 cards per pack. Total 80 cards per box. 1 guaranteed auto. Checklist: 150 base + 50 RC

21-22 configuration is 12 packs, 12 cards per pack. Total 144 cards per box. 1 guaranteed auto. Checklist: 200 base + 100 RC

Much like the plan for flagship starting next year, you'll be getting more hits per pack/box. This is the box break average:

• 1 Autograph
• 11 Base Parallels (Rainbow, Sunset AND/OR Matte Pink)
• 5 #'d Base parallels
• 6 OPC Retros cards
• 1 OPC Retros Rainbow Parallel
• 12 Inserts (Photo Driven, Platinum Die-Cuts AND/OR Sweet Selections)

What is a little galling with the price increase is that it's an expanded checklist but you're still only getting 1 autograph in a box.

still not worth it despite the format change

if you hit an auto, or seismic gold, orange checkers, emerald surge or golden treasures of Zegras, Raymond, or Caufield, than yes it's worth it! Odds are not very good though, especially with a 100 rookies, but still better than a lotto ticket.
Personally I don't mind gambling around $100 range, even $150 for a huge hit, but $250 is to painful if you strike out.
