How about a third tier for GOOdD and a fourth tier for playing in the NHL.

Lol ! Good one.. Should there be a special mention too for the players who almost made it to the NHL?!

In 3rd tier they should add the players who almost made it!

And after that they should make an honor roll with the most over-hyped draft pick, forever prospect, the most overrated player, the most disgraceful player before announcing the HHOF inductees so people can have the opportunity to compare these opposite honors. But I'm not sure if this honor must be handed annually.

The reality is, the HHOF is "The Hall of very good". There are many players who should not be there. Look, I loved Cam Neely, but he shouldn't be there. Same with the Sedins, same with Clark Gillies. The TRUE Hall of Fame is the baseball Hal of Fame. If you're deemed not worthy, nobody gets in a certain year. In hockey, they are picking 6 every year. So, next year, you will have discussions as to why isn't Mogilny in, why isn't (eventually) Price... etc. Price should get in, b/c he has the international pedigree. Roenick? Maybe. But once you start picking those guys, how long until Keith Tkachuk is in, or if you're gonna take Mogilny, why not Ilya Kovalchuk then? Look at his stats (Ie: goals) from a dead puck era. Do I think he should get in? No. But the way things are now, give it 10 years, when him and spezza make it.

Amen to that! This is very subjective and is based on poll from a very few people and in the end it's just a business - annual inductees are there to make attention to yourself every single year.

By the way, have anyone of you been in that museum? Was it worth it?

I was going to comment on the Baseball Hall of Fame, but had the opposite take of yours on it. I think the BBHOF is more "Hall of Very Good" than any of the sports now, what with guys like Alan Trammell, Jack Morris and Harold Baines getting in largely because the Veterans Committee is a popularity contest now. The BBWAA I think does a good job of voting in members in the traditional format, but the VC has started to make a mockery of the whole process.

Sorry for the off topic notes there. Back on topic, I think this class paves the way for Osgood to get in. Goalies, being one of the most crucial positions to a teams success, are severely underrepresented in the Hall, but I think justifiably so. Osgood has the wins and Cups that others don't have, but I don't know that he reasonably could have been considered a "Top 5", or even "Top 10" goalie in the league outside of the 95/96 season.

This debate rages and pertains to all the HOF. People are entitled to their opinions. I for one enjoy the give and take of the different opinions.
