Well.. I'm sure it is rare but on COMC.com there is a Brodeur listed for $35 USD. Cannot be much more rare than the Brodeur if at all. I imagine it was the same print run for both and all of the legends, like the Lanny McDonald, Marcel Dionne, Luc Robitaille and Award Winners.

And I'm sure COMC.com would list the Roy at $180+ if they had one available... Maybe the card of Brodeur is about just as rare as the one of Roy; you can also purchase the Crosby from the very same set for like 20 to 30 bucks a piece...

From what I understand, stars like Crosby, Brodeur, etc., you name them, well they were all still playing the game when that series came out.. So for some reason, or just the one explanation I just gave here, they're worth way less money than those of the retired Legends (the star players who were already retired when this set was released), such as Patrick Roy!

Anyways, one way or another, Good Luck to find a Roy in this set at 35 bucks. Never seen one at such a low price! And probably will never happen either. Plmk if you do though, since I'd be interested in purchasing some of these (of Roy anyway) at 30 - 35 a piece. Thanks for your interest & for your reply!

Yeah I think the Brodeur is an Award Winner not a retired Star.

I have a weird card from that set, it came in a plastic wrapper. I won it in a random draw on a box break many years ago. I think it even folds out. I could not find any information on the card so it's just tucked it away somewhere. I will have to dig it out and see if anyone here wiser than me (which is most) can figure out what it is.

Free bump and hoping for some more knowledge on the rarity of some of the 10-11 20th anniversary parallels. Gotta be people on these boards that know.

As the OP said, cards #501 and up are a shorter print. That being said, I would assume most SPs not named Gretzky would be in the $10 - $40 range depending on star level.

There are a bunch of solid SP players available in that range to back this up. The OP is looking for those few guys that NEED it for their set, and are willing to overpay.

    Guys like (with asking prices)

    Messer - $34
    Howe - $25
    B. Hull - $34
    Leetch - $20
    McDonalds - $21
    Dionne - $22
    Robitaille - $23

The Roy is rare and desirable, just not by many people

Also, to me, it looks like nowadays people are kind of broke... I have noticed a huge slow-down in sales "everywhere" on the web. For instance, on fb marketplace, and maybe on SCF too who knows?! But I did not pay as much attention on here as I did elsewhere, to see if this tendency was also happening at the same level on here... Anyway, with the ever-increasing living cost, it's probably not about to change, unfortunately...
