There was a quote he gave that makes his participation at Homebase every summer a little poignant. He said that he had a good time, but his knee was swollen for two weeks after the tournament. Really gives you an idea of how much of a struggle it's been for him and the stress that his knees would have to endure over the course of a full season. With him moving the family back out here to Kelowna full-time now, we've all known that his career is over and that he won't be suiting up again. It's so sad that this is how it ends. You want to be able to see a guy go out on his own terms.
Obligatory "all my homies hate Chris Kreider" comment.Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

Honestly after fumbling with the last name of the player Montreal was drafting at this years draft I thought it seemed like he was on drugs. I don't mean that in a bad way, but like narcotics from trying to deal with the pain. As if it had been going on for at least a couple years. But really, it would almost be like being a pro wrestler battling with chronic pain and masking it with prescription drugs. It must be tough trying to compete at such a level while trying to mask the pain.

In the big picture, it's not worth it, not even for NHL glory. Health and family are everything.
