EBAY whty do i bother sometimes
well it happened again
i bid on 4 items
the auctions all ended
i was high bidder
so you would think i had won right?
but no
i found out some mystery bidder had won all 4 auctions.
and i didnt find out til over 30 minutes later on two of them and almost 40 minutes on the other two
how does this happen?
if i realized some one else was bidding
by seeing myself lose the first auction when it closed
i could of increased my bid to guarantee winning the other three auctions.
i know now i should do that anyways but it is so darn frustrating
anybody else experiencing this
is there a way around it.
also
when i go to ebay and select hockey crads
when they come up all those auctions are closed
i had had to advance to 54 pages before actually seeing live auctions
what gives?
okay rant over
thanx for being here

Have you ever tried using software to put the bid in at the last second? It lets you set your price that your willing to go to and then leave it at that. The bids get put in at the last section so you never have to worry about refreshing pages to get up with the current auctions. Just a suggestion LOL.

I was about to suggest the same thing as Don.
I've used https://justsnipe.com/ for years.
It's free (up to 5 times per week. You can pay for unlimited). If you use the free account, it will place your bid with 8 seconds left. I think the paid account places your bid with 5 seconds left (there are other sites out there like this one, it's just the one I use).
Of course this doesn't mean you'll win - but I find it incredibly handy when there's a card I want to place a low bid on.... just to make sure it stays on my radar, and then drop a larger bid late in the auction. Nobody has a chance to run up your bid (shill, or otherwise) and it gives you the best chance to win the card for a price you're okay with.
Not sure what's up with the 54 pages of closed auctions - but in 20+ years, I've never browsed a category on eBay.... I only search for specific terms.

i just dont understand why 30 minutes after the auction ends a bid is reported that outbids me.
why does it take that long when the bid placed is immediate

Never had that happen before. I have had a couple times where I've bid on an item, the listing ends, and it sits & spins for about 30 seconds before declaring whether or not I won it, but 30 minutes??! Definitely not. Usually when I'm bidding on something though, I do watch it right to the finish line in case someone bids with a few seconds left so that I can decide whether to put in an additional bid.
The only "way around" it is bidding higher.Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

i thought it was kinda weird but
tonight i won then lost an auction 58 minutes after the close.
thats right almost an hour after it closed with me as high bid - yet it took almost an hour to tell me too bad so sad.
how is it possible
i even entered a substanially higher bid with 3 seconds left.
and that was overbid.
ebay claims the other bid came in 1 second before auction ended
my bid at 3 seconds left showed immediately but the other bid took an hour
something smells fishy

I've heard of people having different issues over time when using their computer. I mainly use the Android app and have never run into problems.
