A very sucessful Torotno Sports card expo this year, see story and pics inside
So last December my friend came to me with some older baseball cards that were from her grandpa and were now part of the estate since he passed away. The family wanted to know if they had anything of value so I asked her to bring them to me. Once I saw what she had i nearly wet my pants
They had approx 28 cards from the 1936 World wide Gum baseball set, and had the big three players Lou Gehrig, dizzy dean and Joe Dimaggio among them. and they were looks great, some of the commons were stained and miss cut but overall nice
They also have 7 cards from the 1936 Goudey Wide Pen premium and they were also in great shape
So in the spring expo in Toronto we took the cards to get graded and when they came back we were very please
here is just the graded cards that came back
and here is Joe dimaggio, we took it to PSA and here is what came back
and here is the tall boys from 1936 Goudey Wide Pen premiums, we keep them raw and they look awesome
and here are just a few of the commons from the 1936 world wide gum set
so we took all the cards and began to shop them around to some of the dealers and eventually we got the deal we looked for, all the cards graded and non graded we got $35,0000.00USD
it was a great day and very successful trip and my friend and the family were very happy with what they got for the estate which was just $48,300.00 CDN
lmk what you think, comments welcomed
thanks

Congrats! This is basically a one in a million find. Usually when people have old card collections they are from the junk wax years and think they are worth a ton and it isn't fun to have to give them the bad news.
