2023-24 Upper Deck Ice Preview
Some really sharp looking cards in the product, as always.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

With the Bedard mania, the boxes won’t be cheap. There are usually some beautiful cards to pick in Ice.

@odjickfan I think that's going to be the theme for every product this year. I also think that a lot of newcomers who are purely in this for Bedard are going to encounter some massive disappointments along the way. Thankfully, UD has somewhat eased the pain of the rookie tiers (at least with 22-23) and print runs. For the 22-23 product, there's 100 rookies broken up over five levels, with the highest being 30 rookies out of 1,299. That's still a lot, and there will probably be quite a few boxes where people get 2 of those. But it's a far cry from 2005-06 when the product had 168 RC's and over 100 of them were #'d /2,999!

I liked Ice last year but the retail really watered it down. I would have bought 4 or 5 boxes if the retail version never existed.

The retail AND the rookie parallels. I thought for a moment at the Players Choice break night last year that I'd hit the Caufield /99, a pull of a lifetime for the product and all that, but no, it was the /799 Green, which was far, far less cool.

It's roughly 8 times less cool.

Ice 05-06 was pure madness, the /99 were so tough. At some point, boxes were available for very cheap.
