The first theme is: Best Connor McDavid Card

Connor McDavid is the best player in the NHL today, and to celebrate him during his birthday week (January 13th, in case you're curious) we want to see the best McDavid card you have in your collection!

Posting guideline: please ensure that you have proof of ownership in your image. This can be as simple as having your SCF user name on a decoy card alongside your submission. I'll share an example below.

Contest is open to all SCF Members except for myself, fellow TM's, and anyone in the upper management. We can play, but we won't be eligible in the voting rounds.

Reminder about the points & RP available for participation:

How points will be awarded:

1pt for a valid entry

Voting:
4pts for first place
2pts for second place
If we get more than 10 entries, an additional point will be awarded to both 1st and 2nd place, and I'll award 1 point for 3rd place.

Each entry will earn you 25 Rewards Points. For those not familiar with SCF RP, it's a site currency that can be used to purchase cards from other members, the SCF Rewards Store, and get into special Group Breaks hosted by @doniceage

The winner of each week's contest will be awarded an additional 250RP.

We are still awaiting confirmation of our year-long contest prize; I should have that fairly soon!

Here's my best McDavid card.

Here is mine and the story. Back when OPC Platinum released I lost count of how many boxes I bought trying to pull the rookie McDavid auto. Never came close! so it was time to give up and the local where I shop, Triple Cards in Plano,TX was sold out. Well what might have been!

Fast forward and months after the release I stop by the store to check on the owner at that time, Al. as he had been having some major health problems that finally caused him to sell the store but not on this day. I walk in and buy a couple boxes of something I don't remember what and since Al was ill sometimes he hired some of his regular customers to work part time. One of the regulars had lost his job so he was there that day helping Al run the store.

One of Terry's job was to clean up the storage room where Al kept his unopen cases and boxes. I am at the cash register paying out for the product I had bought that day and out of the back room comes Terry and he yells at Al, "I found three OPC Platinum boxes stuck behind some basketball boxes. What do you want me to do with them?" Al tells him to just put them on the shelf!

I think of my budget and tell Al and Terry I will buy one of the three boxes and I pick the box!

This Red Prism #38/75 Rookie auto of McDavid was the autograph in the box.



Could not believe that I had finally pulled the very auto I had been hoping to pull so many months before. Terry is still not to happy that he didn't take the boxes!
