If I was him I would just sit back and wait these playoffs out. If a couple of these teams choke early he would be an easy candidate for them to higher and they would be a better team to win with than to sign with the Panthers or Washington team. He could in theory put a team like Buffalo, San Francisco, or Dallas over the top if those jobs become available.

I would go one step further, and say he could take a year off and evaluate the landscape before deciding his next move."You can't have an oversight committee on stupidity!"--Woody Paige, "Around the Horn", 2/11/08

I was shocked when Atlanta didn't give him a chance. Down to Carolina. Seattle, and Washington. Out of those, I can see Washington giving him a chance. If Washington snags a QB to replace Howell in the draft, Belichick could work with him Day 1 or maybe take Howell to the next level.
