More EBay Fish...
I just purchased a Parkhurst Giguere XRC on ebay from a guy.
I just won a bidding war with someone who kept upping my bid. I then check my seller's history (something I have since learned to do before the whole process ends). It seems the same person that was bidding against me was from the seller's hometown. Could they have been working together to up the price or am I being overimaginative?
It's not the money. I overpayed but it was only a 7.25 invoice. I just like to see what's goin on, as all.

seems possible but at the same time there is a shop in a town close to me that puts things on the bay and i bid on them pretty often because i can go pick it up.. i get some pretty good deals sometimes as people dont want to pay for shipping... if it is just an individual however i would be weary

That's what I'm thinking. There's gotta a rule for that or something.
It's just the principle that upsets me. I gotta say that I usually get great deals on ebay.

check and see if the person who is doing the bidding is also winning auctions....that is key!! if he is bidding and winning then there isn't much you can do about that....but if he is consistantly bidding on the same sellers auctions, and consistantly not winning any auctions then something is probably up. also check and see if he is only bidding on this guys items, or if he is a pretty active bidder throughout ebay.

You can report this suspicion to ebay and let them do the watching and investigating. I know many people complain about ebay but I thought I was the victim of schill bidding on a couple of occassions, I reported it to ebay and the sellers account was canceled about a week later.

You know what, everyone puts stuff on E-Bay to sell it. If I see a guy pull something in a local shop, sure I'm going to bid on it, if I want it. If he tries to screw me over I can drive to his house. I can pick up my card rather than wait for mail, also. Not to mention the fact that if the guy is happy with the sell price, I pick up another trade partner a lot of times as well. After all, E-Bay does have a search box where you can search within 10, 25, 50, 100, 200 miles of a certain location.
