    Good documentary. Couple things here.
#1- regardless of what people think, many teams would have taken Daigle 1st overall. BUT, he became a different player when he got the money. If anyone saw him at World Juniors, especially vs. the Russians, he was a different guy. mean almost. he wasnt like that in pros. During the Russian game, he made an unbelievable pass to spring someone for a goal, then went by the whole Russian bench and sheathed his stick like you would a sword. he had panache for sure.

#2- When I went to university here in Ottawa around 92-95, he was a common sight at the bars very late night over in Hull. he had money to burn and he spent it accordingly. Classic example of a guy who liked to play hockey, maybe even loved it at one time, but wasnt willing to do the work or have the commitment to be great. Sad because, most guys would have killed to have his tools, but he wasnt built for that. I saw him one time in an exhibition game around 94 or 95 vs. Washington. They had a big defenceman named Brendan Witt, and you could tell Daigle was afraid of him.

Still, it wasnt a good situation to walk into here for him. the team was horrible, and the team also took full advantage of him for marketing. There's a line he says in the documentary, "I think I met everybody in Ottawa'. He's not joking. If they had a presser for the licking of a stamp, they had Daigle there. Way too much for a young guy.

I watched this earlier and quite enjoyed it. Always knew of the guy, but nice to have a story told like this. I am sure he is enjoying life now. Good for him.

I still have one of those 1991 Score Redemption cards. Would have been the equivalent of those MVP Bedard redemptions if he busted/didn't live up to expectations. People busting a weak product in droves.
