Shohei Ohtani's interpreter accused of stealing millions from Dodgers star

    https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/e...-dodgers-star/

What does everyone think? Could this be another Pete Rose situation? If banned from baseball, will the card market survive two of the biggest most expensive names in the sport dropping to nearly nothing overnight within a year of eachother?

Major League Baseball has announced that they have begun an investigation into the activities of Shohei Ohtani's friend and interpreter Ippei Mizuhara.

Reports have emerged about $4.5million in wire transfers from Ohtani's bank account allegedly used to pay off Mizuhara's gambling debts.

The league says their Department of Investigations 'began their formal process investigating the matter' earlier on Friday.

Earlier on Friday, new details emerged into the ongoing saga between the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mizuhara.

Ohtani's representatives say they've submitted an allegation into law enforcement to open an investigation.

This story just keeps snowballing and it really wouldn't be that interesting except for baseball banning Pete Rose for life because if this story goes anywhere near Ohtani betting on baseball or throwing games for his friend watch out

Los Angeles Dodgers star outfielder Shohei Ohtani will speak to the media on Monday for the first time since the team fired his interpreter Ippei Mizuhara.

Mizuhara has been accused of using $4.5million of Ohtani's money to pay off gambling debts.

After initially claiming that Ohtani gave him the money to help his situation, representatives for the baseball star have described the events as a 'massive theft'.

The latest developments in this story find that Mizuhara lied about attending the University of California at Riverside - and also made up that he worked with former Boston Red Sox player Hideki Okajima.

The Red Sox even went so far as to send out a release to media members, stating, 'Mizuhara was never employed by the Boston Red Sox in any capacity and was not an interpreter for Hideki Okajima during the pitcher's time with the team. Please know that we have thoroughly checked our files to ensure we are providing accurate information.'
