No idea how this is supposed to work

New member, 68 yr old who struggles with ALL things tech. Just looking to trade Topps baseball cards to compete sets from 60s and 70s. Put a post in (probably in wrong place) listing the 15 or 20 cards I need. TRYING TO KEEP THIS AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE FOR ME! When I get a response from a possible trader just go to private messaging? I could post about 100 questions. Is it customary, especially with higher value star cards to post a photo in the thread?
I tried to find a tutorial for new users, couldn't even manage that!
Not sure I am going to be able to use this site, which is too bad!

If you get a reply you can go to private messaging but there is no reason you can't just talk about it in the thread. I'd really only go PM if you are giving out information you wouldn't want others to see.

Yes usually a picture is good with a higher value card but you can always just wait until somebody asks for one if you don't want to waste time doing it upfront. There are many people on here I trade with and I've never ask for scans but I trust them and they so honest that I wouldn't need one.

Also if you have more questions just ask away. Somebody on here is bound to be able to answer any of your questions. No need to be shy about it as nobody is going to get upset with you about it on here. That is one of the great things about this place. Very nice people on here.
