anyone have an interest in shadow boxes?

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in a shadow box for cards and/or autographed baseballs. I am making one for myself out of cherry and would be willing to make some more. The one i am making will hold three rows of baseballs 3 in each row. They will be deep enough for a baseball and will open from the front with a glass cover on it. They will have a hole big enough to hold the ball in place. Another thing i will be making is a custom box that will hold a baseball and a card next to it in a toploader. I am willing to customize them however you want. I have 30' of cherry wood and i have all the oak and white pine i would need to supply the site... if interested let me know

30' of Cherry is pretty sweet. What are you using for the background? Or is it floating in a sense. I have some antique mahoghany that I am going to use to highlight either my Schaub or Steelers collection. If you have a photo let us see it.

i will get a photo when i make it... we came across cherry that my step dad has had for 40+ years so it looks very nice... very clean too... i am probably going to enclose it with the cherry in back also as the front will swing out on hinges.. either that or put a background of whatever is in the box. Maybe like a panaoramic pic of comisky or something like that... havent decided yet but i just wanted to gauge and see if there was interest as i would like to set up something and make them on the side for a little extra cash

You could always pick velvet to be the background. Lots of shadow boxes have that.

I might be interested in some form of a shadow box for different pieces of my collection. Let me know when you get pics up so I can view the finished product:)

i am actually going to get started this week sometime and will have pics up by next weekend. I dont have the tools here at the moment to work on them but they are stored away at my parents so i have to go down there whenever i am working on them. I hope to make about 4 or 5 this weekend in different sizes and shapes and i will take pics of all of them. I am also going to make a plexi-glass case for my auto basketball so if there might be any interest in that... i will be making the case and engraving on a small bronze plaque. I could do baseball, football... basically anything

I would be interested in something like this for my Letterman set I'm trying to complete for Brandon Marshall ... obviously it would have to be long enough for an 8 Letter nameplate set (MARSHALL) but not very deep at all.

LMK if you could/would be interested in making something like this. I was never very handy with wood working.

    Thanks!
