I forgot to post last week's Westchester Knicks game and just went to one today so I'll just combine this into one post.

Last Monday I went to the Westchester Knicks versus the Osceola Magic. My goal was NBA veteran TJ Warren of the Knicks and current slam dunk champ Mac McClung. Unfortunately, I am co-coaching my son's basketball team and thought it would be in poor taste to bail on their first full practice so I did not arrive until half time. At the end of the game McClung signed one of two cards for me. No luck with Warren as they left pretty quickly since the game went to overtime.

Tonight, I went to the Westchester Knicks versus Wisconsin Herd. My son is a Bucks fan so he was looking forward to seeing their G-league affiliate. We were able to get a couple of autos from former 1st rounder of the Heat/ current Herd, Justise Winslow, who was not playing tonight. We did not try the Knicks side as the pre game and half time were Jr. Knicks scrimmages so there were tons of kids standing by the Knicks entrance.

McClung has been great every year about signing, signs for every single person lining up for him at the away games I have been to.

I'm going to try for TJ Warren this weekend, actually, as the Knicks are in town against Windy City.

One success from the weekend. I was at the Westchester County Center for their card show on Saturday and the free signer was former Yankee Roy White. Addidle and I had already gotten his autograph from a previous Aberdeen day but I had picked up his rookie card to get signed. The line was actually short and moved fast. He was cordial but they definitely kept the line moving with no pictures unless you paid for one.

Glad you answered the question I was going to ask.
I was told that Roy came down with a bad case of COVID after he left the Aberdeen show. Took him awhile to recover.

Nice rookie card. Might be hard to try for Beck as he is 85 and do not see any returns.
Hope you get the chance down the road. Did not realize he only played that one season.

I saw it on Facebook and was going to write to you! Unfortunately, my family had agreed awhile ago to go camping that weekend. I had a feeling but was hoping it was going to be the week after. Bummer too. I would have loved to get Oswaldo and find out first hand how his ankle is recovering.

Hopefully, Aberdeen will continue to have these and I can make the next one. Have a great time if you are able to attend. I feel like it's worth it each time.

It's been awhile but finally glad to reports a few success. Chelsea Piers in Stamford CT had a weekend card show that had multiple few signers for the price of admission. I had an 8x10 signed by former pro boxer John Scully and had a nice conversation with him about some of today's boxers. Next up was former UConn Huskie Edmund Saunders who signed an 8x10 for my son. Then had a card signed by former Cub and Marlins Adam Greenberg. He was known by the unfortunate incident being hit by the first pitch he ever saw in the majors and suffering a skull fracture. He was signed to a one-day contract by the Marlins 7 years later to have another at bat. He was very friendly and spoke about his experience. Next, I had a card signed by former UFC and current bare knuckles fighter Parker Porter. He was great and share his transition from MMA to a boxing style. Finally I met former UConn running back Andrew Dixon. I had him sign a card that Panini made with a team he never had an association with. He laughed at the Steelers logo and said he was only invited to Giants training camp. Guess they were rushing to put his card into production.

I could also have gotten former Giant Karl Nelson but he was in the afternoon and I had also walked around with my son at the show for a couple of hours so we skipped him. They focused on athletes in the CT area but I thought it was definitely a nice touch to have so many free signers available for those interested.

On Greenberg he played for the Bridgeport Bluefish in the Atlantic League for a few years and at one point he faced Valerio De los Santos who was pitching for the Long Island Sucks. Santo was the pitcher who hit him and it was the first time since the accident that he was facing him and he did say it was tough.
