    Topps Unveils 2007 Baseball Design

    http://www.topps.com/sports/news/top...px?news_id=123

"...In addition to the reveal, Topps recently mailed distributors one of three different giant baseball cards, which includes product information and highlights for 2007 Topps Series 1 on the card back. The 3-card set includes David Ortiz (1of 3), David Wright (2 of 3) and Ryan Howard (3 of 3)."

Wow, these giant cards sound like their gonna be pretty rare. (And I wonder how many people will get confused and wonder how the Giants acquired David Ortiz, David Wright and Ryan Howard, LOL.)

...can't wait for the first week of February!

This set is going to have the auto on every base card? I really turned off by sets that have that.

I think Topps' intention with the black-border design is to evoke the 1971 Topps design. That set is one of the most popular, most collected sets ever, especially since the black borders were prone to chipping, which made mint-condition cards tougher to find. As for facsimile autographs printed on each card, those have never done anything for me. I can do without facsimile autographs, thank you.

On another note, would you believe mlb.com already has 2007 Topps Series 1 for sale (EDIT: one of their "Future Products", AVAILABILITY: Leaves warehouse in 17 - 19 weeks). Even though a box of 2006 Topps Baseball is pictured, I think the text does apply to 2007 Topps:
