2025 Series 1 Prices
Am I going crazy or are the prices for Series 1 hobby boxes way higher this year? I'm pretty sure I bought two hobby boxes from a local shop last year for $89 per and the owner was apologizing over and over because he couldn't give a better price because Fanatics wasn't giving kind of deals to shops. I KNOW the previous year, I bought jumbo hobby boxes for about $150. My latest check online with legit online stores shows prices around $150 for hobby boxes and upwards of $260 for jumbos.
Like I asked earlier, am I going nuts or what gives?

You are not crazy.
Topps bumped up the price of this and people were skeptical it was going to sell at these prices but it is flying off the shelves. Why I don't know because there isn't a hot rookie in the product but even after the initial rush the prices have stabilized on it. I know the autograph lineup is solid and the product looks nice but it is watered down, overpriced, and lacks any meaningful rookie. Just goes to show you that the Topps brand is very strong and they know how to sell a low end product like a product of the year release.Selling all my cards here updated as of May------------> Hidden Content

Is Topps now owned by Fanatics? Seems like I read that sometime ago.
Fanatics sucks 100%. They are just like Walmart. They force themselves into a market, put everyone who doesn't play their game out and then reduce their effort. Then they have basically no competition. I have bought a lot of stuff from them, because there is no alternate and their customer service continues to diminish.

Yes they bought Topps a couple years back and yes you are correct that they 100% suck. They have done some things that were good for collectors but that doesn't make up for the fact that they do another 1000 bad things and are basically like you said the Walmart/Amazon of the sports world. They just steamroll competition and destroy competition and quality in the name of mega profits.

While I agree with some of the statements that have been made, here is some data on the last 4 years of prices. These are what I paid per Jumbo Hobby Box. I could not find any receipts for purchases before this.
2022 - $207.33 - Dave & Adams
2023 - $157.76 - Dave & Adams
2024 - $159.99 - Topps Website
2025 - $179.99 - Topps website
Also, Fanatics bought Topps in January of 2022.

Were those prices at the start of the season when the product was first released? I know prices go up later once Series 2 and updates get released and the supply of Series 1 drops
I know for a fact that the jumbo hobby box in 2023 was right at $150 in late March or early April because my son wanted to get it for me for my birthday so I actually paid for it.

Just checked. Topps site now says sold out of Series 1 Jumbos. DA Cardworld shows $299 for a jumbo box.

If your reply is to me, all of my prices listed were for pre-orders before product release. It also seems like our 2023 prices were right in line.
