best of all-time has gotta go to one of the older players like russell, chamberlain, or abdul-jabbar...no questions asked. as of right now, i say duncan and wallace are at the top, but wallace needs to develop a scoring ability. if wallace begins to average 12-15 pts. a game, i think he tops duncan, because he will have an all-around great game.

My thoughts - Tim Duncan is the best center in the NBA. KG gets bettter numbers because of his weaker supporting cast, but Duncan's consistency and playoff success propel him to the top. Whoever said Shaq was better must have been under a rock for 2 years, as he is not even close to what he once was. I love Shaq as much as the next guy, as I'm a Laker fan. Also, Duncan is not the best ever. My list would look like this:
Shaq - Dominant for many years, going DEEP into the playoffs nearly every year while accumulating 4 championships and 3 finals mvps.
Tie Russell and Chamberlain: Both were great players, but to suggest that neither of them would have been utterly DISMANTLED by Shaq in his prime is a complete lie. I've watched tons of footage, including Wilt's 100 point game, and its safe to say that it was just a different game back then.
Jabbar - The model of consistency, but didn't have the massive presence of the 3 players above.

Yakhouba Diawara needs a little respect. He's been good for the Nuggs.

Uh..
Sorry to bust balls, but Duncan is EASILY a top 5 power forward of all time, and it is more than fair to rate him as the best of all time.
Why?
Defensively, his teams are always ranked as one of the best in the league. It's not an accident. It's not Popovich, it's certainly not Rasho Nesterovic or Nazi Mohammed.. It's Duncan. This guy is also a perennial lock for all-defensive, and always in the running for DPOY.
In truth, a big man should win DPOY every year. They statistically have a MUCH greater defensive impact on a game than any one perimeter defender.. But that's a different discussion altogether.
Offensively, he's always been incredibly efficient. He has great FG%, great shot selection, can't be stopped with single coverage, etc. etc. Weakness is of course his FT shooting.
But what sets him apart from someone like say Malone or Barkley is that he has won rings as the centerpiece.. And you can go ahead and look through NBA history to see how many power forwards have done that, and it's easy to make a case for Duncan as the best at his position of all time..
