Well, personally I probably would have not offered that for the Eli (actually I would never own an Eli but that's beside the point...LOL) but I know that I have seen some outrageous BIN's w/ Best Offer on cards that just make me shake my head but what I do is just wait until the card to sell in regular auction and pick it up for the fraction of the price of a high BIN.

I would also be honest about it. The seller should not have written and chastised you, that was wrong, I would just apologize if you feel it is due him and move on.

    Good luck!

    Peace~

cymarlins and eaglesfan i wanted to go with option 1 but i just didn,t have it in me i think that could have been fun though take care steve

I would just be honest about it, and tell him that all you had was $10, and you were hoping to spend it on his card.

Ohhhh ok...that makes a difference! I can understand that if you thought it was like an opening bid sort of thing

There are alot of times I see BIN's with Best Offer and the BIN is generally so outrageous that I won't even bother with a best offer lol. I have only used the feature twice as a buyer...once I was ignored and the second time was just a few days ago. The Seller had a BIN of $7.99 and I offered $3.50 and they accepted so I am 1/2 in best offers so far ;)

    Good luck Steve!!

Would you sell an Eli Manning rookie auto for 10 bucks??? I doubt it, but that doesnt mean he has to be an ™™™ about it, I would just not respond, now you how the best offer thing works.

I wouldn't even respond. If a seller is that rude, I wouldn't buy from them, regardless of whether it was a low bid or not. He asked for your best offer. He has no right to get upset if he doesn't like your offer - probably took him longer to type his respone than to read the offer in the first place. BV's are overrated anyway - an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. My advice, find a better seller.

As a seller with best offers on most of my ebay store items, may I ask why would you offer $10 for a card he had listed at $100? While I would never reply with such an unprofessional reply to a buyer, I can't help but wonder what the buyer was thinking when they offer $2 for a lot that I have listed at $20.

In those cases I just simply reply with a decline or tell them that I can not sell the lot at $2.

As for your question, I wouldn't reply with anything or if you do, tell him the truth.

I do agree that it sucks that not all ebay sellers aren't more respectful. Sounds like you wouldn't want to do business with someone that flys off the handle at a simple offer that he can easily decline and move on.
