Hi Richie,
The program is designed to be used offline. No internet connection is needed to operate the software. All the card information is pre-loaded in there... card titles, numbers, names, teams, etc.
Check out the Card Collector website. They offer a FAQ section and much more detail on the product.

I don't actually keep track of my entire 500,000 card collection, but I do use it to keep track of complete sets, wantlists, checklists and that sort of thing.
Hope that helps you a bit.
Bob
Okies cool. Thank alot. hehe. I need a program to use offline and it look like this will fit what I need. I am tired of having to go online to look at what I have listed at Beckett. Plus it would help me with my set also and the players I collect. I had something done up before but I got tired of having to do all the stuff myself. hehe.
Now the only problem I will have is buying it. I will have to look to see if they accept money order and if they do I will need to find some money. hehe.
Thanks again for your help on the info. Take care and always have a safe one. :)

well, I started the process of putting my cards into Beckett.com "my collection"
and it's pure farking hell!!!
Takes forever to input a Kobe Bryant.
First, I have to check whether it's baseball/basketball/football, etc
which takes me to another screen
Then I have to type in the name
which takes me to another screen
Then I have to type in card company and number,
which takes me to another screen,
Then the options appear, and I have to click on the card I have
At this farking rate, it'll take me 1 day to do 5 cards.
I thought it was a simple process -- you type in players name, card company, year, and the computer did the rest?
It took me 2-4 minutes to input one Kobe card...I am not even gonna try further.
I've got several 5,000-count boxes!
Damn, there's got to be a quicker, more efficient way!!

Beckett's my fav, got about 15,000 listed and doesn't take that long with the search feature they have. Updates prices automatically and if you wish to list on their auction Buy,Sell and Trade it can be pulled directly from the collections section...

you are doing something wrong as the set checklist should come and allow you to click on every card you have in that set..

Ok Pod. Here is what you need to do to make it easy for you.
1a) select sport
1b) select browse for a player by set or player name
1c) press start wizard
It should bring you to Choose Your Browse Method. You can either look by year or by name. If you want ALL of Kobe Bryants cards then do this.
2) goto browse by a player name and click on "B".
The next screen should be the Select Your Player From Your Search Results. Scroll down and look for Bryant, Kobe. Click on the box to the left of his name to put a check. Scroll all the way down and click on next. After a few seconds, give or take, it will bring up ALL of the cards that they have in the data base. For Kobe as of this post, there is 2115 cards in Beckett's data base.
Welp hope this help ya out. :)

MOOKIE----
**THANK** you very much for that tip.
If I could give you 10 points, I'd do so for helping me out.
You are what your title says, "..the nice guy..."

P.S. Even though the points are nice they are nothing without good people here. If the points were taken out of the system for some reason I am sure that all the people that are here including myself would stay and we would still have more people joining. hehe. Thanks for the thought though. :D
