New here, what's next?
Hey gang, I just joined here. I've heard this site is a good resource for finding mail addresses for athletes and that's good news for me. I'm in stage 4 kidney failure, living with a single kidney, waiting on any good news of a donor being found, and decided to go backwards a bit and start collecting sports cards again. I need all the fun hobbies and distractions I can get, so I'm accumulating a collection and interested in best ones for autographs and additional information (I'm below novice level!) about best ways to ship cards, how to package all of it, what holders are ideal to use. In my condition I'm not really going to card shows or attending events where athletes would be present, so mail is the preference.
Any and all input on how not to screw up the mailed-out stuff and best way for person signing to retrieve card, send a marker for autograph or what do I do? I have old autographed stuff from golf events and other things way back in the 90s but I'm seeing the process has evolved significantly. Thank you for allowing me in and reading.

Welcome to the site and good luck. I don't do TTM so I really don't know much about them but this might help until somebody else can chime in with more information.

Thank gang! I put off joining but first learned of the site through a TTM page on FB. While accumulating cards and trying to arrange by interest for autographs, it seemed like a great idea to join in over here.

They use all the resources from here to get their autographs as the moderator over there mentions quite frequently. They share their autographs on the site with some folks just sharing a screenshot of what gets posted here. The biggest concern is this. If that group only uses the site and no one enter new addresses for folks it and SCF will become stagnant. As you have to have folks adding new addresses to keep things fresh. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
@3100Travels
p.s. Sorry to hear about your stage 4 kidney failure and prayers for you to get a new kidney.

it's only my fourth day on the job here (fifth?) and I'm still learning. Job, hobby, etc. My health issues motivated me to try some new escapes and hobbies and I've accumulated a bundle of cards but have been out of collecting for about 30 years, judging by the cards I've had until just recently.
It's been interesting looking back at my collection, I'd say the hobby stopped somewhere between 94/95/96 and only lately I thought "Hey, getting stuff autographed would sure beat getting all this medical mail!" So here I am. Thanks for the warm, friendly welcome. Appreciate the interest in my crazy health stuff, it'll all kind of tie itself together over time, so this here is keeping my mind busy for good reasons.
I've got a small collection of cards I purchased in the spring intending to send out, it's just a matter of being motivated and following through! All new and all fun.
