    Hi everyone,
my name is Fred and I’ve been collecting baseball cards since the 60’s. I have probably over 6,000 card and 224 signed cards and 68 signed balls, all in person. I played minor league baseball for 5 years and got most of the autographs from spring trainings. Unfortunately I’ve never got any certifications just because I haven’t looked to sell any of them. I’m interested in getting more of my cards signed either at meet and greets or mail them to the player. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on how to go about doing this.

Welcome Fred! I also have many cards signed in person from Dallas Cowboys. No need to get them certified if you're not going to sell them... you saw them sign it!
As far as sending in stuff to get signed I've had a few successes. I haven't done but maybe 5, got 4 back. Jason Witten retired as my card to him so it was probably tossed. The successes have all come by this strategy: Send card with return envelope and postage already to go so all they have to do is toss it in the envelope and put it in their mailbox. Provide a marker. I write a little note to them, memories of them playing is my go-to since I usually ask 90's Cowboys. I haven't tried it without doing this though... find out what charity they represent or are most involved in. Send along a check made out to the charity. I've gone as high as $100 for Jim Brown and he signed within 2 weeks. Whatever you think is fair, or what you can afford. I'm sure they know it's payment for the autograph, but at least it's not to them personally. My last one was to Chad Hennings and I didn't have a bank account at the time so I had to send cash... he sent the cash back with a note saying to give to a local church. It happens that I'm a memeber of a small one here in town, so I gave it to them on Sunday offering. If they do sign, try to send a SHORT thank you note. If it were me and I signed for someone I would appreciate a thank you in return.
With a little sleuthing you can find addresses pretty easy now. I sent a card to Alejandro Villanueva using Google, and Google Earth.
Good luck with your TTM's! And again, welcome to the site!
