1964 Topps Baseball Players Rest In Peace 2025

I began collecting 1964 Topps Baseball cards in, well 1964, at 8 years old. 5 cents for a pack of 5 cards and one of those all star coins in the green and yellow wax packs. Somehow I kept most of these all these years and have added as necessary to make up a pretty nice set (still trying to improve the quality of some cards). I would sort them by teams, player positions, alphabetical, etc just for fun and some of the cards got a few soft corners and wrinkles. It was easy to sort by teams due to the large team names in different colors at the tops of the cards. I thought then, and still do, that these were the best looking cards ever, even though the orange/white backs gave statistics that were not very easy to read sometimes.

I have been through this set many times over the years and know almost all of what each player's card looks like. A few years ago I began to keep up with the players pictured in the set as they aged and passed away, many of them way to soon in my opinion. The first card of a deceased player was Ken Hubbs who tragically died February 13, 1964 and has an "In Memoriam" card. Jim Umbricht #389 and Fred Hutchinson #207 passed away that year also....

Since '64, 406 more players/managers have passed on. There are a total of 590 players/managers pictured in the '64 set. This includes all individual player cards and rookie cards. No special cards, leaders, features, etc are included.

Respectfully, to pay tribute to players pictured on the 1964 Topps Baseball Set that have passed away during 2025, as of today, 11/3/25:
    #501 - Bob Veale January 7
    #228 - Felix Mantilla January 10
    #156 - Bill Dailey January 11
    #543 - Bob Uecker January 15
#337 - Jeff Torborg (Rookie Card) January 19
    #66 - Eddie Fisher February 17
    #528 - Tommie Reynolds March 19
    #311 - Tom Brown April 24
    #183 - Ron Taylor June 16
    #508 - Diego Segui June 24
    #79 - Bob Heffner June 25
#482 - Mike White (Rookie Card) August 1
    #524 - Jim Dickson September 9
    #484 - Bill Pleis - October 17

If you have any special memories of these players and/or their cards from that year please post it - please be respectable.

    Thanks guys!
