As much as people bash Beckett as the prices are not realistic compared to EBay sales. I have gotten the online version for years. It makes things a lot easier and it also has access to millions of cards and prices.

I can honestly say I never paid for a pricing guide. My question to you guys and gals if your buying a price guide why would you not buy Card Ladder especially if you ever stumble upon something that is rarer. I never used cardladder but many of the friends and dealer locally use it. Even some of the guys that started out small time use it if they are doing tons of sales 4 figures a month. So, I just always wondered why would one use Beckett unless their price guide is so much better. I also, liked SCI software as it grows it will be like cardladder and have any sale in the past from when they started their pricing. Also, 130 is a good option to for cards that move frequently.

Just like to hear or see how Beckett makes it easy compared to other pricing guides. If you have inventory already there like many have stayed over the years I could see that as a reason to stay.

Beckett on-line price guide is fine...for some things. Absolute no-nos though are valuations on auto and vintage cards. if you do trade an auto card on here, then you pretty much have to get an auto card back, since if your auto is under-valued, then likely so to is what you will be offered to you, so it balances out. But under no circumstances would you even entertain trading autos for inserts....since virtually any insert you take, you can probably buy it for about half BV if you're patient.
Vintage...problem here is many guys will trade vintage and expect top end valuations, but really very few truly ARE Near mint. If there's scuffing on the front of the card, I dont care what your corners are, then that card is worth maybe half of what BV says.
All that is to say is, Beckett has a time and a place. Good for inserts, newer cards, and perhaps as a ball park figure, but that's about it.
