Shipping Canada to US - success!

I have to share this story. I don't sell much on eBay, and when I do most of it is ships within Canada.

I had a BIN sale go through, was a US buyer. Thinking oh boy, here we go. Went to my local Postal place, small little corner store kind of place. Always had good luck and no issues, typically a $20 to $25 shipping charge. This time my guy tells me I can't accept your packaged card. Hands me a Canada Post pamphlet and tells me I have to go online, complete the tariff application, add the HSS code, etc, etc. So away I go to look into this.

I went back on my listing, see if the eBay shipping program could help. Low and behold they have shipping options, one of them is UPS. I select that option, it helps me find the HSS code, gives me a UPS label to print - all for under $18 Canadian!

I print the label, march down to my local UPS depot, guy scans it, done! Still skeptical, I am tracking the package daily, expecting some wild tariff bill to come back to me. Package delivered 4 days later! Shipped on a Tuesday, delivered the next Monday!

I just had to tell everyone on here, it was super simple to do, print my own label, drop it off, and cost less than Canada Post and no online application or tariffs grief.

One thing you have to do is be on the eBay.ca site, I started on the eBay.com site and it did not work.

PS: Even the UPS guy was shocked at how little it cost. Told him it was thru eBay and he said that explained the rate.

Dropping you a message. Glad you had the success. I had a guy cancel several auctions as he said he did not ship to Canada and we are talking about 4 cards that were mid hundreds. The bad part was he said the buyer would not pay so ebay dinged my paypal account. Called ebay and talk to some guy from India who did not take care of the issue as I said I had message thru ebay from the seller saying he would take the blame. Figured I let it just fall off instead in about six months or so but did miss out on a few good auctions.

    Thanks for posting this.
