    Jakebrandon 2026 success

Happy New Year to everyone on the forum!

Last Saturday, I was at the Westchester County Center for their card show. Former MLB pitcher Tim Leary was the free signer. I remember him as part of those starters in the late 80s/early 90s that end up being the default ace for the Yankees. He was the ace in 1990 for the Yankees despite losing 19 games. I was given 2 tickets (probably by accident) and was able to get my Yankees logo picture and a card signed.

    Lee Mazzilli

Nice one today. I had gone to Home Depot in Hawthorne a couple of days ago and saw a crumpled black and white picture by the cashier about a signing for former MLB OF Lee Mazzilli. Apparently they didn't really promote it. I was probably 6th in line at the starting time and the line never had more than 15 people. He was a half hour late because they gave him the address to the wrong Home Depot. He was very nice and signed as many things as people brought. Only problem was the lack of markers and pens. I had a black Sharpie for him but did not bring a pen for my baseball and no one seemed to bring baseballs to sign. Still I had my Yankee and Mets pics signed and got one of their free photos signed as well. Great to have this even especially since he will be in Long Island tomorrow signing for a fee.

    Very nice on the signings
Sorry about not having signing pens

I had an incident like that a long time ago and now I always bring one of everything just in case.
Most places are not like Aberdeen in which they have a ton of pens on the table

Nice picture I hate when stores or places do not really promote signings. As you say it free and you have someone come to sign for free you would thnk you would want to get the word out to the most people possible.

Lesson learned. First time it's ever happened to me but I'll be more prepared next time.

Yeah, I was surprised. I'm happy I didn't have to stand on line for too long and that Lee signed every item fans had but a post online or a couple of signs at the entrance would have gotten a better turnout.
