$200 For A Box Of Upper Deck Extended?
Seriously bro?
Series 1 and 2 stared out between $150-$160, and now I see the starting price for Ext. at $200
There better be some 24 carat gold cards in those boxes to justify that price on a traditionally sub-par product.

That is going way up.

That is why I refuse to buy it. If people would boycott prices would go down.

This is why I only do O-Pee-Chee now. Flagship is way too overpriced and adding the extended series has only watered down the Young Guns.

You would think but in every other sport the prices continue to go up for junk and the masses are still lining up for it. I'm not hating the market being this hot but I just can't see it sustaining these prices. Where is all this money coming from???Selling all my cards here updated as of May------------> Hidden Content

I had a real good chat with my LCS guy yesterday about Extended -- it's the US market that is driving up the price. There's a lot of places in the States where it's $250/box. That's USD. The Canadian retailers are in a real bind because as you guys all well know, Flagship has been in that $120-$150 range, and then this year it's jumped up to $180, and probably on release day if you didn't preorder it's going to be $200 on the shelf. They're all pretty concerned that once they have to restock the price is going to jump again dramatically, and it's going to impact purchasing power for a lot of people.
It's insane that we've already seen it transition to Flagship being a semi-allocated product. Guys used to be able to order as much as they want/need. Now, if you only ordered 100 cases last year, that's all you get this year...if you're lucky.
The hype around the product is all about Schaefer and these Debut Game Jerseys. Which is really cool to see UD doing these--they're incredibly popular in other sports. But it's not like it was back in the day with Rookie Materials where it was 1 per box. FAR FROM IT. The Jersey cards are 1:1,296 -- for the JERSEY -- which is 1 in 108 boxes. That's asking an awful lot of Brady Martin. LOL
There's going to be a group case break on Wednesday at Players Choice, and it's going to be a lot of fun as usual and I hope we get a good time out of it, but I think that a lot of people going in are expecting to have a pretty realistic shot at hitting one of those Debut Jerseys.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
