Authenticity guarantee never again for me.

I know other people swear by it but after 2 of my 3 sales using it had problems I deleted all my listings from eBay and will never sell on eBay again. Their new gig is saying item not as described on condition.

Before this new price restricted practice came along I had sold 10 or so items above their 250 dollar level without any problems. The first card I was forced to use it went through without a hitch. The next 2 were horrible experiences. The first experience wasn’t as bad as the second as at least I never received payment and it only took 2 weeks I marked the card in description as mint and although it wasn’t graded I had a couple of people at the card shop look at it and they told me that is how they would list it. Authenticity guarantee authentication said it was authentic but the corners were rounded which they weren’t I accepted the return and wasn’t that pissed off as the card came back to m in the condition I sent it so I will just sell it in person somewhere.

Second case. I sold the card on June 6th but my payment was on hold till they did their authenticity check well they finally did their check on July 6th a full month later. On July 7th my wife’s account received payment so I am thinking everything is good and the transaction is finished. On July 8th the buyer said he hadn’t received the item and put in a dispute. Well that was on ebay as the card was in their possession to mail out. eBay sent me a message on the 10th that the payment was on hold due to customer not receiving it. I explained that was not my fault as they were the ones mailing it.’on the 12th eBay sent me a message saying they sided with the customer and were taking the money back. I came to find out that they never mailed the buyer the item and after his complaint they changed the reasoning to did not meet me description and were sending me the card back. They screwed things up and then they changed the story. I told them I was going to delete all my listings which I did because that is no way to run a business. It seems the buyer still gets the preferential treatment with or without authenticity guarantee. A word to others dealing with this service even if you think your card is mint do not describe it as such. Mint is a psa 9 but once the authenticity guarantee says it’s only excellent it automatically in their eyes becomes a psa 6 which neither of these 2 cards were in that condition. You live and learn and I just felt I couldn’t use their services anymore based on their tactics. Take what I am saying as advice if you haven’t had a problem with them by all means keep using them but seller beware. Take care Steve.

I'm not familiar with this "Authenticity Guarantee" on Ebay.
Interesting to learn from your experience though.
Sorry to hear it didn't work out well.

They started it I think about 2 years ago and I don’t really sell many cards over 250 dollars and this system was supposedly put in place to protect both the buyer and seller but it seems to me the buyer is still getting preferential treatment from eBay and the authenticity guarantee program.
