Put you physic powers to use
I know odd title, but I am interested to know what people think the future holds in hockey card collecting?
Right now it seems to be the chase for Rookie Cards, and I think how many generational players will hold their value?
Also with more and more players joining the HHOF, is it going to have too many members and lose the weight it carries today? Have we already seen that?
Will our collection of Roy/Gretzky and other greats no longer be wanted?
what do you think?I collect Brodeur for my PC

Roy and Gretzky will always have their folks until they start dying off in droves. Gretzky is the iconic goat and will always be so his stuff will always carry gold in the market.
I cannot think of a rookie card I have chased as I am enjoying collecting on a budget while I dig thru the old stuff and move it eventually as many cannot be comped recently lol. Posting a thread on that in a minute.
I think a lot of the cards will sell but many folks buying early on the hot rookies are going to be holding a hot pile of crap down the road unless they unload when they hit their peak. Too many folks can just say this has always been the hobby. You can be te poster boy for the NHL but as soon as you tank so do your card values. Not many can keep relevant for 5 ot 10 years or more to lead them into the Hall of Fame hence their values have big peaks espeically if they have a down year or two in between the great years.

I agree, the major rookie hype is really hit or miss. Plus, I think many people looking for the big Young Guns are not doing because they collect. It's because they think I will lead to a big payday.
I'll get more excited over a Propp or Dave Brown auto than a prospect.Hidden Content

So true! I used to collect Roy, but found his cards where to expensive, switched to Brodeur. But I watched a Auto Patch /30 graded at an 8 go for $600CAD.
i just can’t compete, so do I switch to Luongo, Price, or a new goalie. I am here to collect not invest…
and I have some cool cards that have nothing to do with those goalie I couldn’t part with, Tie Domi auto/jersey for one!
