The thing I hate about Ebay

I hate the fact that with 5 seconds you can swoop in and steal a card from someone else....I've never done it, because I find it rude, but people do it to me all the time. I'm not sure how many of you have been to bidz.com, but they have it where if someone bids in the last few seconds the auction is extended 30 seconds....I think ebay should do that as well....thoughts?

That, unfortunately, is the nature of the game.

I've lost a lot of auctions by between 5 and 25 cents due to it.

But I've also won some nice stuff.

I am totally and completely 110% guilty of doing just this.

I don't do it to be a dink, the reason I snipe cards is because, in the past, I have been shilled numerous times and I just won't let that happen anymore.

It is all a part of the game, so to speak. I have also had it done to me more times than I can count in the past and it's all good by me. I always figure there will be another. I actually got sniped about a month ago on a 1/1 Delanie Walker autograph...I did put in a snipe at about 10 seconds which would have won it, but someone sniped me in the last 3 seconds...lol

I also do NOT use a sniping program, I manually snipe.

IMO by the way bidz does it, that would be a shill bidders dream come true.

    Peace~

How is it at all rude? It is your own fault if you lose the auction. If you want to pay $96 for a card, put in $96. If you get out bid with 1 hour left, or 1 second you should have no worries since you put the max you wanna pay for the card. Whats the problem here?

I agree. Just make the decision on the max you are willing to pay and you are covered. It does hurt to see that you missed it by 50 cents or a dollar though. It seems that the given practice is to snipe in the last 10 seconds.

If I`m around at the end of an auction, I manually snipe. It`s more fun that way. If I`m not gonna be around for the end, I put my max bid in the last chance I have to do so. If I win, good. If I don`t, good. I just saved some money. :)

I have no clue what sniping is anyway. I just bid my max about 1 minute before the end and ride it out. I have always gotten what I want this way.
