    Why is this!!

Why are people selling cards for so cheap!!!

When beckett releases prices they have two prices high bv. and low bv.

they suggest you trade at the high bv. and sell at the low bv. So why are people selling for 25% and 30% of beckett value

want to get your guys' thoughts.

I don't think it is too complicated. They need some money, and apparently no one was buying for 40-50% of Beckett value.

I've sold cards for as low as 10% so I could pick up new cards for my PC.

Most cards(except really HOT prospects or short prints) can be picked up on EBAY for 20%-30% of Bv of GU and 30%-40% of BV on autos. Rookies and inserts sell for cheaper than that. Ebay has ruined the hobby. I mostly buy and sell and sell most of my cards at 25%-40% of BV out of necessity. That is why when I buy I only pay 20% of BV. if somoene was WILLING to buy stuff at 50%-60% of BV I would sell it for that. I hope that helps

Nobody buys at 100% book anymore. Heck, nobody buys at 50% book anymore. I can't remember the last time I bought something at more than 50% book. Why? I think that Beckett overprices stuff. If you're selling something, there is always someone willing to sell it lower.

Im saying beckett has two values in there book

    high beckett price
    low beckett price

Your supposed to buy at the low price and trade at the high price.

As was stated earlier, Beckett is tuned more towards people going to dealers.

Most /dealers/ sell at Beckett Hi or perhaps a bit more (if you have a crap shop like I do), and take trade-ins at around 50-60% of hi, or buy cards for 40% or less.

On here (and on many online sites), people generally go more by what prices cards go for on Ebay when they're buying and selling. Trading, they go more by Beckett.

The reason is, as stated elsewhere, is that dealers have to deal with a lot more overhead than people on Ebay do, so they have to charge more.
