Sticker Autos and why they do them

Imagine if Topps sent Dusty Dvoracek (325 LB Bears LB) 1000 Chrome RC's to be autoed. How many of those cards do you think would come back in mint condition. Get my point? They would have cheeto powder on half of them. Instead send him 1500 little stickers and have him sign them. Then you can throw away the ones with ice cream and cheeto on them and make some mint condition cards. Apprecitate the sticker, it's the only way your cards end up looking halfway decent. It is also a trusted certificate of authenticity. Too many fools with forgery skills and too little time out there.

Lol! Good way to look at things. I generally don't have a problem with sticker cards; I think there are certain designs where they can look very bad, but there are also ones where they can look pretty cool. Nothing wrong with on card auto's either, it's pretty much the same way with them for me.

Thats the biggest problem i have with sticker autos ---I like full sigs and i think if the signer cant stay on the sticker they should destroy the auto instead of putting it on the card anyway....Wheres Quality Control...lol

The auto sticker has absolutely no relation to the card it is on. Its not the same as actually signing the card. Maybe they should just photocopy a signature and ask the player to sign a power of attorney for 10000 autos.
    Oh well...

I actually like the look of Sticker autos, I could care less about that, as long as they are semi legible it doesn't matter to me. I think the LCM, and contenders look cool, just as an example.

I am comforted by the fact that it is guaranteed to be their sig. I have autos that "are on the card" and I just can't be 100% sure they really signed it.
