    Kobe Bryant Scores 50+ Again!

Kobe Bryant just scored his 50th point in tonight's game against the Hornets, which makes it his 4th straight 50+ point performance. He joins Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in NBA history to score 50 or more points in 4 consecutive games. Here are the results of his last 4 games...

    3/16 vs. Portland - 65 pts.
    3/18 vs. Minnesota - 50 pts.
    3/22 @ Memphis - 60 pts.
3/23 vs. New Orleans - 50 pts. (at the moment)

    So, my question is...

Where does Kobe rank in the greatest scorers in NBA history?

After his third game, Kobe credited Lamar Odom and Luke Walton for being such great distributors of the ball..since they got healthy again, the Lakers are winning, and Kobe is playing the best ball of the season. Things are clicking for the Lake Show.

It's amazing to watch, but unless the Lakers go [i]deep[i/] into the playoffs (which is a very tall order) he'll be labeled as Iverson has been when he was in Phili. All due credit though, KOBE is the man....

Definitely. They've won 4 straight games, and their next 5 games are at home, and 4 out of 5 of those teams have records that are worse than the Lakers record at the moment. Therefore, the Lakers and Kobe should be able to continue to play great.

Labeled as Iverson has? Kobe has actually won a championship unlike AI, BUT that was with Shaq.

Exactly, a one-man team label for the Shaq-less Lakers. Someone that averages around 30pts a game, but can't win games. That's why I said if they don't go deep into the playoffs. But you got a point, Kobe already has titles.

    EDIT: Bit my tongue :)

I understand. I was trying to interpet what you meant by that. I got it though.

Btw I forgot to mention this when I posted the thread... The Lakers have won all four of the games that Kobe has scored 50+, so if the Lakers can manage to be in the playoffs, Kobe and the Lakers could do some unexpected damage in the first round or two.

I agree. It was kind of unfair of me to say if they don't go deep into the playoffs, he'll be labeled...blah..blahhhh.blah, because of who the Lakers (and/or who the 4th through 8th seeds will have to beat to go "deep" into the playoffs).
