Need Advice
OK Members,
I need some advice...
I got some cards from a guy last week and at first glance, they seemed fine and I didn't have time so I just sat them down. Last night, I take them out of their top loaders to put them in cleaner ones and I notice that none of them has penny sleeves in them, and the corner is a little dinged on the first one. Decide to let that go and then I take out the next one, which is a Topps 52 Style Rashad McCants and the thing looks like it had been laying right beside someones pool for a week. It had clearly been soaking wet at some point and had dried out but was all wavy and almost bubbled on about 80% of the card but when it was in the top loader and held down flat, didn't look so bad, at first glance.
I contacted the guy and even gave him the benefit of the doubt and suggested maybe he had a couple and didn't realize he sent me the damaged one and he told me to pick anything to fix the problem. I picked a Dwyane Wade Upper Deck MVP RC which only had a value of $6, the same as my card because I just want to get the value we traded for. He writes back that it's not $6 and NO, he can't send that with a sort of attitude and that has me steaming! More or less implying that I'm lying and was trying to pull a fast one or something. So, clearly I'm dealing with someone who doesn't know a lot about cards, possibly a very young person. I've written back copying the exact value line out of Beckett.com and also listing a few others that he has with a higher value but that are the only others I'd want & I've given him the option of us both just sending back our cards! What else should I do in this situation? Also, should I leave feedback that reflects this and if this person doesn't handle himself any better at not sending out crappy cards for good ones, whats to keep him from hammering me in feedback in revenge and ruining my perfect feedback?
Any advice would be appreciated!

I say do an 'undo' and send all the cards back. He is just using the "attitude" thing as an excuse not to send anything else. If people want to make things right, they will find a way.
This may seem trite, but if the trade was done here on SCF...put it in dispute. If a mod contacts the other person, maybe he will "play nice". Sometimes with a 3rd party involved, cooler heads prevail.

LakersMC: ha, finally a response after a couple weeks, thanks! You are the first to offer any advice. To let you know what happened, I took a card that was worth what the original was supposed to be so technically, he made it right! I should have gave him a bad feedback but I figured he's just do it back to me in revenge. It could have been a kid for all I know too! I gave him a break although he was really kind of a jerk.
