Kaua'i, Hawaii = Absolute Retail Gold Mine READDDDDD

I took my honeymoon in Oahu and Kauai. The first 2 days in Oahu, the next 7in Kauai and the last 2 in Oahu. I wanted to show her where I lived in Pearl and the area (USS AZ, ect...) While in Oahu we stopped in at Kmart to get a backpack for hiking and I noticed the usual retail scene, packs thrown all over the shelves, ect....

Then we arrived in Kauai. That island (other than starbucks) is the land that time forgot (and has been spared from industry). Aside from having an insanely good time, we went to the Kmart there (it's all kmart in Hawaii) and I found retail gold. They had the shelves stocked so fresh I got excited. Boxes of everything freshly cracked with no packs missing. Blasters of Topps Chrome, packs of Topps Chrome on the shelves untouched. Those 10 dollar GU packs that are hard to find. This place and all the other retail cards there were untouched. I bought a few packs and a blaster (couldn't fit much in my luggage with all the other crap and got some great pulls including another one of my Heritage in the Cards autos (Peyton Manning and no I didn't search for it.) Amazing what happens when there are no pack searchers.

If you ever get to Kauai, get your woman/family to take 30 minutes and hit Kmart. There is only one. You will find unsearched retail. I could have blown a thousand bucks if my woman wasn't around and probably got some insanely sweet stuff.

Oh, also got a Vince Young Chrome SE RC out of the Chrome Blaster, along with some other good rookies.

No. She spent about 700 bucks on trinkets and jewelry. I thought 40 in cards was more than justified. I was the cheapskate on that trip. I am feeling the effects of that trip right now. 2200 bucks in 11 days not including hotel and airplane. All booze, food, entertainment and crap for her.

I would do it agian in a heartbeat though. I loved that island. The na pali coastline was intoxicating. It was a true paradise. I will always be drawn back to that coastline. Dolphins, turtles, exotic fish, nude beach (you have to hike 11.5 miles to get to the beaches) and you can only access the coastline from hiking the 11 miles (and the trail is frightening), boat or helo. It remains untouched. We took a catamaran with breakfast, lunch, snorkeling and all the booze you can drink. 90 bucks for both of us after a 90 minute timeshare speech to get the discount. It's 300normally.

I haven't seen 06 Topps Chrome on the shelves in 4 months or more. And they had just cracked 2 boxes. I couldn't bring myself to desicrate it and search the packs.
