    Jerry Krause honored?

I read an article that said that the Bulls honored Jerry Krause at half time tonight. They hung a banner with his name on it in the rafters next to Phil Jackson. What I'm wondering is what the hell did he do? Yeah he made personnel changes during their six championship runs but it didn't really matter who he signed because of Jordan and Pippen. I think this guy is a loser and is one of the big reasons that the Bulls can't get any big name free agents on the team.

He's gone anyway, Resigned last over the summer. I agree, he may have been the GM but really, I dont see a banner in his name hanging from the rafters as important.
Although, he was responsible for bringing in alot of players to help with the championships, but it really was Jordan and Pippen that ran that team.

    agreed with your points!!

The only thing Krause did right was to draft Pippen (not sure if he drafted Horace, Kerr, etc).....

and b/c of Krause and Reinsdorf, Chicago may have the Curse of Michael Jordan haunting them for years.

    1. they draft Elton Brand high pick -- now with Clippers
    2. they draft Jay Williams, #2 pick -- career over due to motorcycle accident (sure, he may play some ball; but he wasn't at all impressive in his rookie year; and now he's gonna miss at least 1 season)
    3. Curry and Chandler -- what will become of these two guys?
    4. missed out on star free agents, none of whom want to be the guy to replace Michael Jordan

I think both have the skills to be superstars, but will they have the desire?

Both are wealthy young guys; not too many will dedicate their summers to working on their weaknesses

    Magic did
    Larry Bird did
    Jordan sort of did
    Kobe does

will Curry and Chandler? For those who regularly watch Bulls games, have they improved significantly?

I've tried asking this to some of my Chicago fans, but why does everyone hate this guy? He put together, and kept together, one of the greatest dynasties in all of sports history. Maybe he didn't draft everyone on the team, but it is extremly hard to win 6 championships, with the main core of players, in any sport.
