Kobe Still Wants Out!!!
Backed Into A Corner
Jun 17 - The more I thought about the future, the more I became convinced that the Lakers and me just have two different visions for the future. -- KB24.com
The Lakers are trying to add a star without subtracting both Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum.
Meanwhile, the Lakers are being backed into a corner. By Kobe Bryant, who on Friday told Jerry Buss to his face that he still wants a trade. And by Kobe's fans. Fans who are Bryant fans first, Lakers fans second.
Trading Kobe isn't a viable option.
Without Kobe, the Lakers are an expansion franchise. Without Kobe, they are the Clippers, except with 10-15 more defeats. Without Kobe, those $2,300 courtside seats become available and the days of 18,997 in Staples Center are over. -- The Daily Breeze
Bryant has been quiet publicly in recent weeks. But he has continued to list a farewell-oriented message on his Web site, referring to "a new road ahead" and being "convinced that the Lakers and me just have two different visions for the future." -- Orange County Register
For now, the Bulls are working under the assumption the Lakers have no desire to deal their nine-time All-Star guard. That stance is supported by a statement Buss released two weeks ago.
Should Lakers management change its mind and pursue trade options, the Bulls, like any NBA team, would have interest.
But depleting the roster of multiple assets like Luol Deng and Ben Gordon to match Bryant's $19.5 million salary likely would give GM John Paxson pause. -- Chicago Tribune
While Isiah Thomas would do everything he could to acquire Bryant, sources scoff at the Knicks' ability to land a player of his talent because they just don't have the pieces that would interest the Lakers. -- New York Daily News
Stephon Marbury opened his wallet to New York City policemen, firemen and teachers yesterday and opened his arms to Kobe Bryant becoming a Knick. "Hey, I'm not opposed to it," Marbury said with a laugh. "I want to be clear-cut. I'm not opposed to it." -- New York Post

Now this story is just getting old. For them to trade Kobe is like one of us guys/gals walking into a store and buying the winning powerball ticket with only $1. Kobes salary, what the Lakers would need in return and where Kobe would be willing to go is just too overwhelming to even be a story!!!!! No team except maybe dallas has that kinda $$ to throw around. How did the knicks ever get mentioned?? They'd have to trade the whole team as far as I'm concerned to even get close to value for Bryant. Sure Kobe said he'd go there, so what? He goes there sets that franchaise back 4-5 years. But would bet they'd win more games!!! I'll wait to see the headlines Kobe goes to __________, before I believe any of this bull anymore.
