Yet another eBay purchase issue
So, I recently purchased a Lawrence Maroney refractor from eBay. The whole reason I purchased the card, because the image looked nice (centering looked solid and card would make a nice addition to the Refractor set i'm building.
The card I actually got is really bad centering (top/bottom) and has what looks like veins running all throughout the refractor part of the card...
I already emailed the seller and notified him of this discrepancy and offered to send back the card and he could refund my money. Outside of that is there anything else I can do to combat (what I feel to be) false advertising?

File a claim with PayPal under "Item Significantly Not As Describe".
Explain in your claim that the card in the listing and the card you received are two different ones and that the one you received is not in as good of condition as the one shown in the listing. Be specific about the centering and streaks and point out that the one shown in the listing is better centered and lacks the streaks.
It is 50/50 as to whether they will fulfill your claim but that is about all you can do.
You can file a complaint with eBay but don't hold your breath.
Be sure and leave relevant feedback too. I see a lot of people complaining about sellers ripping them off but hardly ever see sellers with honest feedback.

Well, at first the guy didn't seem to want to budge saying that it was the only Maroney refractor he had. He has stellar feedback and reminded me of that. I told him again of the flaws on this card, that I would like a refund, and that I would send his card back.
He finally agreed to do so. Problem solved. I won't end up leaving any feedback at all for fear if I leave Neutral, he'll leave me negative.
Seems like everything is good at this point though.
Thanks for the replies you guys are great! :)

I wish people wouldn't care so much about retalitory negs to let other ebayers now about things people do. Maybe this guy has done this multiple times before and all of those guys were affraid to tell the truth in their feedback so you fell into the same trap.
I may have that opinion because I have almost 3000 feedback and sell enough lots every month to burry and knucklehead retaliation negs.
it does suck to get a neg but people that look at feedback can tell if there's a trend there or if it's just someone pissed. ALso you can always add your side of the story right under a negative on your feedback.
glad you got your money back though.

At least he made good on it. Thats more than you can expect from most. Very little of what I get that is listed as Nr Mnt/Mint is even close.
Given that he resolved the issue I see no reason not to leave good feedback. You can cover the description discrepancy with the star rating piece.
