Fleer question from a rookie
Kinda new (again) to the hobby, so this maybe a stupid question.
Is there a difference between the Fleer baseball packs sold in retail stores versus the packs sold in card shops? I never see mention of any "Fleer Hobby" packs.

Fleer, as with most brands, usually says "hobby" or "retail" on the packs. Hobby are card shop only, while retail is from Target, Wal-Mart, etc.
Generally hobby packs are more expensive, but also have a couple more cards, and better odds of pulling a GU, AU, or #'d insert.
Take 2007 Topps. If you're looking to pull a platinum 1/1 or a copper /56, you can't do it from a pack at wal-mart. You have to buy the hobby packs, more specificly, the Jumbo packs, at the card shops to even have a shot at them.

Yeh, I am aware of that practice for with the other brands, but I have not seen any "hobby" packs for Fleer around here. Usually, there is also a fairly well known difference in the inserts available in the hobby packs.....I have yet to see such for the Fleer packs.
Can someone point me to this info?

Just to add to this, I noticed while bored this weekend, that within the price listings in Becketts magazine, it lists the odds for retail and hobby as the same for the Fleer product. If this is true, then I have to ask again, what is the difference between the two packages? Or is what Beckett has listed not correct?
