AHHHH! Help! I Was Ripped off on eBay!
I won an eBay auction for a lot of game-used & autos. I paid VIA personal check and didn't receive the cards. I filed a dispute & eBay is 'looking into it'.
The seller has cashed the check, and it has been six weeks since he received the check. I e-mailed him, called him, and received no response (and he didn't respond to the eBay dispute that I filed).
What do you all suggest I do? I plan on filing a complaint at www.ic3.gov but definitely want to do more to ensure I get a refund or the cards.
I've heard of people contacting the perpitrators' local police dept, which is definitely a good idea. Any other suggestions (aside from only using Paypal from now on)?

You can contact the local PD, the fraud site is good, the dispute with eBay is good, and I think you can contact his bank too to do something about it.

I definitely will. Thanks for the advice! I checked his feedback (which was 100% when I had bid, granted he'd only accumulated 8 positives), and now he has two negatives, one being the one I posted. He ripped another guy off, so I messaged the other buyer. I'm going to visit my bank to get a copy of the check, so I can see which bank cashed it.

That stinks! Luckily, the seller ripped off another guy, and I e-mailed the other buyer. The buyer supplied me with the seller's phone number (not the number the seller had in his eBay contact info). So I'll call later today.
Plus the other buyer had talked with a post office worker in the seller's hometown. I'll call the post office worker to see if anything pans out there (maybe she'll beat the seller up! ha ha). If I don't get ahold of the seller, I'll file mail & internet fraud. Lucky for me, there's another buyer that was ripped off, and perhaps it will be taken more seriously because of this.

Phone calls, letters, all explaining the .gov & other legal steps being taken.
Best wishes,
I like to believe good things happen to good people and something good will come of this.
