Question Drew Henson To Be A Steeler?

First time I've ever heard of this but Chris Mortenson just reported on NFL Countdown that Drew Henson wants to return to football and play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Texans own the rights to them but said the Steelers and Texans have been talking about a deal now for a couple weeks.

The Texans own the football rights but I still think he's under contract with the Yankees.

I know they want to get rid of his contract because he's not going anywhere.

He'd be a good fit for the Steelers BTW.

Is Henson really that good an athlete?

Is he a Deion / Bo Jackson -- naturally gifted who can play 2 pro sports very capably?

We know he is not a Michael Jordan -- one of the best in NBA, but couldn't hit a lick in minor league baseball.

it will be very interesting to see how he performs as QB

No that's why he's quitting baseball.

He could only play football but wanted to try baseball. He failed baseball so he's off to football.

And Bo Jackson was a lot better at baseball than Deion could ever dream of.

I always thought that Deion would not have been playing in the majors if he was not named Deion Sanders.

The rumor in Houston is that a deal will be done between Henson and the Yankees for the buyout of his contract before the 40 man rosters have to be set later this month.

Since the NFL trade deadline has passed already, no deal can be done until the beginning of March (this was from Charley Casserly's mouth). So, Henson's not going anywhere for quite a while.

    Good.

The Yankees got ripped on that contract.

Henson was never going to be worth that much money.

Everyone called Houston stupid for making that pick but they don't look dumb now.

They can still talk about a deal... and actually get a deal in place and activate it when they are allowed. Texans have Carr... I can't see why they would want Henson.

I'm not quite sure of Henson's connection, but he does have one to this area. His threats towards the Yankees while under his Yankee contract were going to play football for WVU. WHy WVU I have no clue because he's from Cali... but Pittsburgh is only a little over an hour away.

Pod, I don't know if you quite remember him in college, but he was damn good for Michigan. He could definitely be a pro QB... he'll just need some work though since I assume he hasn't done much football related in the last couple years.
