What do you think about them resigning Buehrle??? I really thought they would trade him. They need to rebuild.

i think it's great...he could have gone to another team and gotten at least 20 million/year and not 14 that hey gave him...sort of like barry zito who got 18 million per year. and ya, they do need to rebuild. they haven't been the same since winning the world series...the big difference is the bullpen. the starting pitching has been really good lately, but then the bullpen blows the game. the problem is that they don't have any good prospects who are relief pitchers...they have some starters, but no prospect relievers. they need some new young talent in terms of relief pitchers...also they need to play "small ball" like they did in 05. the way that they get all of their runs is solo home runs which do basically nothing. it's pretty hard though when you have podsednik and erstad injured for long periods of time, and no .300 hitters on the team. this year they have had so many people on the DL (podsednik, erstad, thome, crede, terrero, macdougal, ozuna, and a few others) so they've been missing their starters. crede being gone is a real killer because he's a young kid who plays great defense and can hit (especially in the clutch). josh fields isn't MLB ready yet, but they needed to call him up due to crede. if they let him develop more, he could be a great player some day. their only prospect that is ready that's on the team right now is danks...he's good for 5th starter. he's a lefty that's 22 years old, so he can improve, but he should be a star in a few years.
