    A&G Rip Card - Ripped

I originally pre-ordered a case. I wanted the case to ensure that I had a shot at a rip card. Well, unfortunately the deal fell through (don't worry, I got my refund). Anyway - I decided to at least try a box. I bought from a high volume seller on eBay hoping the boxes were unsearched.

Well I guess they were indeed unsearched because wouldn't you know that I pulled a freakin rip card!?! The fact of the matter is that I told my girlfriend to find me the hot pack. I had opened about 6 packs, leaving 18 in the box. She reaches into the middle of the stack, moves some packs around a bit, and pulls out a pack that has the freakin rip card in it! - and I don't mean she was searching the packs and feeling them up or anything. She picked me out a $20 retail blaster the other day that had a Lincecum Black Mini and Markakis Auto!!!! I'm bringing her to card shows from now on.

Anyway, onto the rip card. I will post the full break results in another thread (and discuss an issue I had with all of the black minis in the box that will have me sending them back to Topps).

The rip card: Jered Weaver #/99

I'm actually happy that it wasn't somebody like Cole Hamels where I'd be tempted to not rip the thing. But hey, Weaver... rip away.

The result - not what I had hoped.

Justin Morneau Mini #364 - The only really distinguishing features are that the rip mini image differs from the image on the full size card, and that the back of this card is kinda "cardboardy" and the card is slightly thicker. I'm not sure if it has a number or not - it's downstairs right now.

Anybody interested in trading for either the ripped rip card of Weaver or the Morneau mini? PM or post. Thanks for reading.

    Josh,

Last years basic #351-400 (all out of Rip-It cards) had a high BV of $50! So, you're looking at at least $50! I'm debating ripping the Frank Thomas #36/95 I pulled today.

Nice - thanks for the heads up. I looked at the checklist and now I understand what they mean by those limited mini cards - they are the ones that are only available in rip cards. Got it.

I say rip the Thomas. I took one normal mini out of the population. That means you have better odds on a hot Auto #/10!!!! :-P

    Good luck!

Back to the point of my thread. Does anybody have interest in the Morneau before I simply list it on eBay this weekend?

Thanks for the advice! I ripped the Thomas & pulled #389 - JETER! Last years Jeter EXT card books for $150.

If you haven't traded/sold the Morneau yet, check my bucket. maybe I can take it off your hands.

    Hey Rick,

1.) Awesome pull on the Jeter! You can probably even sell the ripped Thomas for a few bucks on eBay too. I'm going to sell my ripped Weaver.

2.) I'll take a look at your bucket for the Morneau. I didn't realize how good he is - his stat line this year is really good.

3.) From a fellow Flyers fan, awesome Flyers collection! I don't really collect hockey cards, but I do have a nice Roenick collection. However, one of my prized sports/Flyers items is hanging in my basement; an awesome Flyers jersey signed by the entire 2002-03 team.

I'll let you know on the Morneau.

    Josh
