Exclamation Need a little help with a trade offer that was made to me

Heyas everyone. Over on E-bay I had someone tell me that they had seen my Hot Prospects have list and they were also putting together a set. I assume they are putting together the regular set and not hitting the other stuff like I am since they said they only need one more card for the set. They had told me that they need the Reggie McNeal RC Auto that I have to finish their set and would offer a trade to me. They are offering the following:

brian calhoun quad jersey auto rookie
    endorsement auto of dj shockley
    retrospective jersey of byron leftwich
prospectus jersey 3 color omar jacobs #/275

I did a search last night for Reggie McNeal RC autos and I was not able to find any except for the Red Hots. I did a search on here, on E-Bay, Naxcom and Beckett. So far I have not been able to find one. The McNeal is part of my set so I am not sure if I want to part with it even though I could use the Shockley for my set and the Jacobs would be an upgrade.

I would like to get some input on this possible trade before I say yes or no to the guy. So what would you do? Thanks for any and all input. :new_usa:

    Richie,

#1 I would not work a deal with a guy over e-bay unless there is a middle man.

#2 Although Reggie McNeal isn't a superstar by any means. You need the card as well.. Having to chase that down may prove harder then it seems.

#3 Although the book value of everything is in your favor. Its nothing too spectacular IMHO. My 2 cents comes down to everything after the Calhoun. I don't see any value in the other 3 cards. That is my opinion though.

I agree with pr0phet in that you would be getting 1 nice card and 3 decent cards to break up your set...

But the way I look at it, chasing down the cards is the fun of it. Once you have the set, it's nice, it looks pretty, it makes you proud, but there's nothing else to do with it but look at it. To me, trying to find and get the cards is what it's all about.

It's kinda like a lot of people when they retire. They work their whole lives, saving money, planning, investing, etc to get to retirement...but once they get there, they're bored. I don't think I'll have that problem, that's why I say a lot of people :)

Heyas Jay and thanks for your input. I see where you are coming from about doing a deal with someone over E-Bay like this. That is a red flag there.

Even though it is only McNeal I had and am still having a hard time locating another one. I have been able to find the Red Hot version but not the regular one. So I don't know when and if I would be able to find another if I traded the one I have.

Yeah the BV would be in my favor but that would not be the reason I would consider doing this trade. For one thing I do need the Shockley for my set. Nothing big but a need non the less. As far as the other cards, I don't need them for my set. What I am looking at with the other cards though is the Jacobs. Even though I already have that one for my set it would be nice to get a 3 color one to replace the 1 color one I have. hehe.

Yeah I would agree that the chase is the fun of it. That is why I chose this set was for the fun and it is in my opinion a nice looking set. Not as expensive as some other sets out there so that makes it much better for me. hehe.

Welp the way it looks I will prolly not do the trade. Even though it would be in my favor and the guy I would be trading with has good feedback, I like to try to stay away from trades like this one. If I were to find another McNeal and I was able to get it then I prolly would do the trade with him sending first of course. hehe.

I am open for any other thoughts on this but I think my mind is set. Thanks in advance for any and all replies.
