    Worst cards you've ever bought...

The worst cards i ever bought were 1988 topps and donruss lol. I was just getting into cards a little heavier back then and my dad found a good deal on boxes. I can't remember what he paid for them he swears it was 90 dollars a box (he stretches the truth) but i'm thinking about 30-40 maybe. I bought 3 boxes and i think he ended up with about 10 - 12. He asked me the other day what they were worth and i hated to even tell him lol.

I've still got a slew of commons from the box minus the only decent cards of course that i traded back then, he's still stuck with about 8 boxes. I'm sure have been other similar years that sucked but i'm not sure if there was one that sucked as bad. Anyways thought it would be fun to hear from some people about stuff they invested in that turned out to be totally worthless. Thats my worst one although there are countless others involving stars i thought would do good aka Brien Taylor, Desmond Howard & countless others :icon_frow

Pretty much most 1990s cards are not worth much anything.

I think I have to go with Collector's Edge Pop Warner Football. I believe I paid $120 for a box of junk that had the Pop Warner logo on each. If memory serves me correctly I lost at least $119 on that beautiful box.

As far as pure disappointment goes, the worst box that I ever bought was 1990 Fleer Baseball. Hideously ugly and bad photos.

Every box goes way down in Value ... 99% of the boxes are down in price versus the first month of there release. Rarely does a box hold its value and/or go up in price.

Bought a few boxes of Proset hockey which sucked. I bought a box of 04-05 topps and was not fond of it got nothing out of a $65 dollar box.

I bought a box of 2004 Bazooka NFL....ugh. Paid 100$ and pulled a Ben Troupe Jersey card....plus....NOTHING. All base. Didnt even get the base Eli Manning RC. As far as a SINGLE card purchase? I once paid 15$ for a HIDEKI IRABU rookie card back in what? 98?

    HaHaHa good post.

Honestly, hype kills me!! Anytime I've "speculated/prospected" after hearing or reading about a specific box or player...I've lost. All have went down to literally pennies(and I mean 2-3) on the dollar I'm sure.
